f. ITIL v3 Awareness
Since its initial release in the late 1980s, ITIL has become a best-practice approach to design and implement IT Service Management. ITIL has become a de-facto standard and as such, has been widely implemented by thousands of reputable organizations.
In June 2007, ITIL has issued a new version (v3), focusing on IT services rather than IT processes. Many organizations are struggling with the question what impact this might have to their current IT organization. This ITIL v3 awareness session aims to respond to such questions. The session provides a high-level overview on the new version, providing you with a basis to assess what it can do for you.
Description
The main goal of this workshop is to briefly explain ITIL Service Management in general and to show the key differences between v2 and v3 in an objective manner. In addition, it provides a high-level overview on ITIL v3 as a starting point for the future.
The course leaves plenty of room for discussion, allowing you to assess if / how v3 would impact your organization. Key questions addressed will be:
Should we implement v3? What can it do for me?
What about our current v2?
Can we smoothly upgrade to v3 in a later stage, as we are actually implementing v2?
